TAKING IT ON THE ROAD Thanks to
General Motors, NJ SAFE Kids is taking child passenger safety on the road with its newly donated Mobile Car Seat Check Up Van. The van, one of a fleet of 51 across the country donated by GM's Chevrolet division, is part
of a new initiative that provides life-saving child passenger safety information and hands-on car seat installations as a free public service to automobile owners of all makes and models. The customized 2000 Chevy
Venture vans will be a permanent extension of SAFE Kids Buckle Up, a five-year, $10.6 million partnership between the National SAFE Kids Campaign and General Motors. The van will enable NJ SAFE Kids and
other certified agencies to offer free car seat check ups and provide important child passenger safety information to neighborhoods it visits along the way. Filled with resources needed to host a car seat check, it will
visit day care centers, shopping malls and other community events where it will reach those most at risk - children who are not restrained at all. If you are a certified child passenger safety technician
and would like to make the van available to your community, contact Carol Ann Giardelli at 908-272-7712. |
