Foam Firefighting/Flammable Liquids Workshop

Are you prepared to fight a flammable liquid incident in your community? Do you have adequate foam concentrate supplies to begin and sustain the firefight? Will your foam be effective on alcohol/polar solvent liquids? What types of proportioning devices are needed and can you use non-aspirating nozzles with your foam concentrate? How does the new oxygenated fuel additives change the rules of standard foam firefighting?

This 3-day course is designed for both municipal and industrial firefighters and will address flammable liquid incidents in industrial complexes, transportation, bulk storage and maritime facilities. Topics include: basic flammable liquid concepts, foam history, types/uses, application rates, foam proportioning, large gallonage systems, handline & monitor delivery devices and fixed foam systems.

Students will participate in problem solving workshop scenarios of actual incidents, demonstrations and fire simulation exercises using ICS.
