Fire Safety & Preparedness in the Workplace

Designed for those individuals charged with the responsibility of developing, implementing and coordinating fire safety, prevention/suppression, evacuation planning training and education in their workplaces, the course will take an in-depth look at OSHA Fire Protection Standard (1910 – Subpart L) and its requirements for Emergency Action Planning, Fire Prevention Planning, Fire Brigades, Evacuation Planning and Employee Training. Will also discuss: the most common fire hazards, conducting fire safety analysis, dealing with the security vs. fire safety issue, standpipe/sprinkler requirements, the need for and how to establish a working relationship with your local fire department and determining your facility’s level of fire protection preparedness based on analyzing your community’s fire and emergency response capabilities. Presenter: Lawrence Petrillo, President, New Jersey State Fire College. .6 CEU
